Hi, I'm Luke Bryce, the founder of Brutal Interiors. 

Launched in January 2022, Brutal Interiors is the culmination of a lifelong passion for design. I curate pieces that subtly echo the strength of brutalism, crafting interiors that feel both bold and inviting. 

Growing up in the '70s and '80s, brutalism has always been a part of my life, even before I knew its name. While completing my Fine Arts Degree in 1993, I was captivated by the raw, monolithic design of our Brutalist university campus. Its austere, textured concrete surfaces created a strong, almost intimidating backdrop that I grew to love; a love that continues to shape my design philosophy today. I majored in ceramics and worked in public art for many years. I established a retail and interiors business that thrived for a decade. I continue to work with esteemed brands such as Ethnicraft, known for their commitment to craftsmanship and timeless design.

I embrace the bold, timeless aesthetic of brutalism and love how it can be referenced subtly by material selection or expressed boldly with form, a design philosophy that complements the meticulous craftsmanship of brands I work with today. Pieces that allow for appreciation of the honesty of materials."
